The Federal Highway Administration has announced awards under the National Scenic Byways Program for fiscal year 2011 as authorized in Section 1101(a)(12) of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy For Users (SAFETEA-LU).

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has developed a new version of the “tear sheet” map of America’s Byways®. This map is intended to be a simple overview piece that features a map and listing of the America’s Byways collection, and has been designed to support outreach to stakeholders, community groups, and elected officials. The convenient 11” X 17” format is easy to download and print.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has developed some additional tools to assist applicants for fiscal year (FY) 2011 National Scenic Byways Program grants. These include some question and answers for Indian tribes applying directly to FHWA, tips for preparing project titles and abstracts, and recordings of our recent outreach webcasts.
