National Scenic Byways Program FY 2011 Grants Announced

The Federal Highway Administration has announced awards under the National Scenic Byways Program for fiscal year 2011 as authorized in Section 1101(a)(12) of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy For Users (SAFETEA-LU). See the official FHWA press release.

TO THE ATTENTION OF: Financial Managers and National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP), Transportation, Community, and System Preservation Program (TCSP), and Delta Region Transportation Development Program (DRTDP) Division Contacts

The purpose of this E-mail is to announce the availability of funding allocations for FY 2011 National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP), Transportation, Community, and System Preservation Program (TCSP), and Delta Region Transportation Development Program (DRTDP) awards. For projects that can be obligated by September 26, 2011, requests for allocation of funding must be made by August 24, 2011.

Today, the Secretary announced FY 2011 discretionary grant awards (see: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/pressroom/fhwa1137.htm). Awards for NSBP, TCSP, and DRTDP are included in this announcement. These three programs are managed by the Office of Human Environment. We have also attached the awarded projects for each of these three programs, along with the awarded amount and suggested project number.

FY 2011 NSBP, TCSP, and DRTDP awards are subject to the obligation limitation and August redistribution. As such, next week we must release the associated FY 2011 obligation limitation for awards that will not be obligated by September 26, 2011. Therefore, we request that you submit any allocation requests for FY 2011 NSBP, TCSP, and DRTDP funding by August 24, 2011. Any allocated funding must be obligated by September 26.
